I like to make "different" jewellery – particularly for brides

Stringing a couple of beads on a cord is never going to excite me. I am inspired by my travels, by the beads I buy, by what I see other people wearing ...

I can design and make necklaces, bracelets, headbands and other hair accessories etc to match your outfit – whether you are the bride, her mother, a bridesmaid or just someone who wants a lovely (and very different) piece of jewellery for a special occasion. I am happy to incorporate pieces from your own jewellery collection where appropriate – a solo diamante earring or Grandma’s pearls in a bridal piece, for example.

In pieces made from wholly new components I prefer to work with semi-precious stones and high quality manufactured beads such as Swarovski www.swarovski.com , stringing on silver plated wires or other highly reputable materials. Pieces can often be produced fairly quickly once the design is agreed and the components sourced.

My daughter, Nikki, loves vintage jewellery, and wanted a headband for her wedding. I designed and made the headband pictured from vintage diamante brooches, pearls from her grandmother and a couple of solo earrings from other members of the family. They were fascinating to make - quite different from anything I'd done before, and very rewarding. I now offer a range of headbands priced from £50.00 to £150.00 – and every one is unique.

Alison incorporated a number of hair slides and clips which I made especially for use by her and her bridesmaids. The picture shows some of the hair clips, mostly created from vintage components and working well with the headband. Similar embellished hair clips, hair slides and combs are available from £3.00 each. Again, many are unique (but where possible I aim to create a small number of matching pieces to wear as a set).
